Aija Mayrock

Aija Mayrock is a 24-year old writer and poet. Aija’s first book The Survival Guide to Bullying was inspired by her personal experiences with bullying at a young age. She wrote it a just 16 years old and self published it before Scholastic acquired it. Her second book, Dear Girl, will be released on August 25th by Andrews Mcmeel.  Dear Girl is a debut poetry collection that takes readers on an empowering, lyrical journey exploring truth, silence, wounds, healing, and the resilience we all share.

Mayrock has written and performed a series of poems that have reached tens of millions of views. Her poetry covers topics including gender equality and female empowerment.  Her original poem, The Truth About Being a Girl, has been viewed more than 5 million times and continues to reach new audiences daily.

With her strong messages, Mayrock has traveled all over the United States speaking to educators, students, and community leaders.  She has performed poetry at venues like Madison Square Garden, SWXW, Girl Boss Rally, the United Nations, General Assembly to name just a few.  Additionally, she has spoken at corporations including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Warner Bros.

She graduated from New York University in May 2019 and currently lives in New York.
